(born 1 December 1946) is a former
Sinn Féin the Workers Party
,
Workers' Party of Ireland
and
Democratic Left
politician
who sat in
Dáil Éireann
for the constituency of
Waterford
from the
February 1982 General election
to
November 1982 election
when he lost his seat. He was an elected member of
Waterford City Council
from the 1970s to 1990s.
A journalist Gallagher established his own newspaper
Waterford Today
in the 1990s and the free-sheet style paper is now one of Waterford's most popular.
