Pavel Kotla

Pavel Kotla (born 5 June 1972, Szczecin, Poland) is a Polish conductor. Privately son of Ryszard Kotla.

He studied at: (symphony and opera conducting - Boguslaw Madey) and Oxford University (musicology and performance practice - Edward Higginbottom, Andrew Parrott).

In 1997-98 he worked as the Performing Fellow at in London and artistic director of Oxford University Philharmonia; 1998-2003 he worked as the assistant conductor to Sir Simon Rattle; 2001-05 artistic director of Harpenden Choral Society; 2005-06 artistic director of Witold Lutosławski Symphony Orchestra of Płock (Poland). From 2004 he is the artistic director of Redhill Sinfonia; from 2006 - artistic director of Leicester Symphony Orchestra. He worked with majority of Polish orchestras. He conducted in United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, Austria and Brazil and worked with orchestras such as St. Petersburg Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Polish National Philharmonic in Warsaw, , Łódź Philharmonic, , , London Mozart Players, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Municipal Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo.
