PSIM (
Indonesian: Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Mataram) is an
Indonesian football club based in
Yogyakarta. They play in the premier division, second level in Indonesian football competition
Liga Indonesia. Their home stadium is
Mandala Krida Stadium.
This club was founded in 5 September 1929 as
Persatuan Sepakraga Mataram (PSM). And club's name was changed to PSIM in 27 July 1930.
Despite the small territory, Yogyakarta club has fanatical supporters, militants, have a strong ideology, Brajamusti (Brayat Jogja Mataram Utama Sejati). That this is proven by the small territory, very calculated in the world Brajamusti Indonesian supporters. Something big is not determined by a wide area.
History
PSIM history began on 5 September 1929 by the birth of a football organization, called the United Football Sports Mataram (Indonesia Language|Indonesian: Persatuan Sepakraga Mataram) or abbreviated PSM. The name Mataram used because of Yogyakarta is the administrative center of Mataram Kingdom. Then on July 27, 1930 the name was changed to United Indonesian Football Mataram or shortened as a result of demands PSIM nationalist movement to achieve independence of Indonesia. PSIM itself when it was actually a body of national struggle and the Indonesian State.
On April 19, 1930, PSIM, together with VIJ Jakarta, Bandung BIVB, MIVB (now PPSM Magelang),MVB (PSM Makassar) SIVB (Persebaya Surabaya), VVB (Persis Solo) PSSI birth to participate in a meeting held in Yogyakarta Hadiprojo Societeit....
