Radio Caroline was the original name of a New Zealand radio station in Timaru, now owned by The Radio Network (TRN). Radio Caroline was named after the nearby Caroline Bay and broadcast throughout South Canterbury on an AM frequency.
Originally it was a community based local radio station, until October 1995 when it became part of the Classic Hits FM network.
The FM frequencies now carry 'Classic Hits 98.7 and 94.7' after a second frequency came on air in 2005. The local breakfast show is hosted by Bradley Craig, and broadcasts live from Timaru studios 6-10am weekdays. Out of these times, the station is networked from Auckland.
Classic Hits broadcasts on 94.7FM and 98.7FM in Timaru, 1485AM in Twizel and the 1152AM outlet became Newstalk ZB in 2001.
A station using the name Radio Caroline now broadcasts from Palmerston, Otago on 756AM; coverage includes Dunedin.
