"
Ride It" was the first single to be released from

Now That's What I Call Music! 60.
Song information
Geri dropped the "Halliwell" from her name and became known as the rather diva-esque "Geri" for the release of this disco number. Strong competition from
Girls Aloud,
Destiny's Child and
Lemar resulted in a final chart position of number four (from a midweek position of number two), with 19,196 copies sold in its first week. "Ride It" went on to sell 55,142 copies, and was the 143rd best selling single of 2004. The single was very popular throughout
Europe,
Asia and
South America, especially in the clubs. A remix of the track was later included on several Dance Compilations in the US and had big exposure on music channels, especially on
MTV Europe where "Making The Video" was shown to promote the single. The
Hex Hector 12" Remix was also included on the
soundtrack to the fifth and final season of
Queer as Folk.
Simon Cowell criticized the single's music video on
ITV's saying, "If I was her record label and that video arrived on my desk I would throw it in the bin."
