"
Robert De Niro's Waiting..." is a song written and recorded by English
girl group Bananarama. It was the second single released from their
self-titled second album in 1984.
The single is one of the group's strongest performing releases, peaking at number three in the
UK singles chart (the single to date stands in a three-way tie as Bananarama's highest-charting UK hit). It made a brief appearance on the U.S.
Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number ninety-five.
A slightly extended version of the song was available on the 12" single (though this was not actually listed as being an extended version, as was the case with all Bananarama's previous 12" versions). The B-side of both 7" and 12" singles was a song called "Push!". Also included on the 12" single, was an unlisted track; a different version "Link" from
Bananarama.
Bananarama re-recorded "Robert De Niro's Waiting..." with
Latin instrumentation on their 2001 album
Exotica.
