Robert Kasting (born August 28, 1950 in Ottawa, Ontario), but raised in Lethbridge, Alberta is a former butterfly and freestyle swimmer from Canada, who competed for his native country at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. He won the bronze medal in the 4x100m Medley Relay, alongside Erik Fish, Bruce Robertson, and William Mahony. He also competed at the 1966 Empire games and won silver medals in both the 4x110 yard freestyle and the 4x220 yard freestyle. He also won two silver medals and a gold medal at the 1970 British empire games, in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay, 4x200 meter freestyle relay and the 4x100 meter medley relay respectively. At the 1972 Olympic games he finished in 10th place in both the hundred meter freestyle and the 100 meter butterfly.His collegiate swimming career includes swimming for the swim team at Yale university, and being the captain of the swim team as a senior in 1972.
