Saint Lucia competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.Thanks to the Greek alphabet, Saint Lucia marched out first at the parade of nations at the Opening Ceremony.

Joseph was the second-to-last finisher in the men's marathon, beating the last-placed runner by more than six minutes, but still finishing more than a half-an-hour behind the winner.
