leftThe Salt Lake City Gulls, a former member of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League, were based in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were a minor league affiliate of the California Angels from 1975 to 1981, and of the Seattle Mariners from 1982 to 1984. The franchise moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1985.
During the 1981 season, KMPC (the original at 710AM which is now KSPN, not the current station at 1540AM) broadcast most of the Gulls' games that were held during the Major League Baseball players' strike. Bob Starr called the play-by-play.
