San Siro is a
comune (municipality) in the
Province of Como in the
Italian region
Lombardy, located on the north-west shore of
Lake Como immediately north of
Menaggio and south of
Cremia.
It is about 70 km north of
Milan and about 30 km northeast of
Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,826 and an area of 18.55 km².All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute

The
comune was formed on March 30, 1999, by the fusion of the former
comuni of
Sant'Abbondio and
Santa Maria Rezzonico.
San Siro borders the following municipalities: Cremia, Menaggio,
Plesio; and, on the other side of the lake in the
Province of Lecco:
Bellano,
Dervio and
Perledo

Sant'Abbondio was a
commune (municipality) in the
province of Como,
Lombardy (northern
Italy) on the north-west shore of
Lake Como between
Santa Maria Rezzonico and
Menaggio. The town also bordered on
Plesio and (across the lake in the
province of Lecco)
Bellano and
Perledo.
Sant'Abbondio had a total area of 7 km². In 2001 the population was 777, giving a density of 111 inhabitants/km².
On 1 January 2003 Sant'Abbondio and Santa Maria Rezzonico merged to form the new
comune of
San Siro.
