Sathasivam Krishnakumar

Sathasivam Krishnakumar also known as Colonel Kittu was a well-known commander of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

Personal life

Sathasivam Krishnakumar was born in Point Pedro, Sri Lanka. He studied in Velayutham Maha Vidyalayam. His father had a printing press in Pointpedro. His mother was a political leader in Jaffna. He was also Velupillai Prabhakaran's cousin. He married his girlfriend Cintheya ( a medical faculty student)during the ceasefire period in Colombo in 1991 and they have no children.

LTTE

Col Kittu was one of the first commanders of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam as he was a relative of the LTTE leader. Kittu did many successful ambushes on the Sri Lankan Army, Tamil paramilitary and even the IPKF. He was even capable of fighting a conventional warfare.

Krishnakumar lost his one of his legs when going somewhere in a car, when a Tamil rival attacked using a grenade. Everyone in the car died except him. Kittu was also wounded his other leg which meant he had to get an artificial limb to be fitted in Britain.

In Britain, Kittu who was an hardliner for a separate Tamil Eelam threatened Tamils who left the country because of the war to pay money for the struggle. Some Tamils who didn't support Tamil Eelam or the cause made an appeal to the government who eventually deported him.
