Satyavrat Chaturvedi (born 13 January 1950)is an Indian politician from the Indian National Congress party. He is presently a Member of the Parliament of India, representing Uttarakhand in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He has served as posts like minister in Madhya Pradesh government and General secretary and national spokeseperson of Congress

Early life

Satyavrat Chaturvedi was born in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, Chaturvedi to freedom fighter Baburam Chaturvedi, who was a minister in the P.C. Sethi Government in Madhya Pradesh and Vidyawati Chaturvedi, a member of Rajya Sabha for two terms up to 1978, and a member of Seventh and Eighth Lok Sabhas, elected from Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh.

He is Senior Cambridge from Sainik School, Rewa and have also studied at Chail Military School Chail.

Political career

Before this, he was a MP for Khajuraho in 1999.He is General secretary of Congress and was its national spokesperson before when in march 2010 he was removed from the post while using abusive words against union minister Sharad Pawar in a causal talk to a TV reporter while camera was still on, for not controlling the price rise of food and agricultural .
