The station is located on Sea Island, along the Canada Line branch serving Vancouver International Airport (YVR), and serves the airline-related industrial area along Grant McConachie Way east of the airport. Both Sea Island Centre and Templeton stations were built at ground level to allow for the future construction of an elevated aircraft taxiway over the Canada Line guideway.<gallery widths="200px" heights="150px" perrow="2">File:Sea Isl Ctr stn - approaching from west - 3600.JPG|Approaching Sea Island Centre Station from the west.
