Unni Mukundan,borne in Thrissur, kerala had his education in Ahmedabad.He is the son of Thrissurite M.MUKUNDAN NAIR who is settled in Ahmedabad with his family.Unni Mukundan made his debut in the tamil film SEEDAN(2011) which is an adaptation of the Malayalam movie NANDANAM. He played the hero's role which was played by Prithviraj in Malayalam version. The film was directed by Subramaniam Shiva. The film - a simple love story targeted on the family audience- was released on 25th Feb 2011.His entry into Malayalam films is through `Bombay March 12' directed by Babu Janardhan. In this film he plays a notable role along with Megastar Mammootty .The story of Movie revolves around the effects of Mumbai blasts in the lives of a youngster and his family. Unni Mukundan as Shahjahan did justice to his character in an impressive manner with amazing maturity.The film was released on 30th June 2011. `BOMBAY MARCH 12' was selected to INDIAN PANORAMA for 42nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2011, which was held in Goa during 23 November to 3 December 2011.His third film is a Malayalam movie `Bangkok summer' directed by Pramod pappan. This film, completely shot in Bangkok, is a highly performance oriented action-packed thriller catering to the youth audience . The film was released on 22nd July 2011.He was selected for NEW FACE OF THE YEAR award in the fifth Asiavision Movie awards(2011).
