Shikhar (film)

Shikhar (English: Pinnacle) (Devnagari: शिखर) is a Hindi Drama film, released on 30 December 2005. It stars Ajay Devgan, Shahid Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Amrita Rao in the lead roles. This is the second movie directed by John Matthew Matthan, the man behind the 1999 hit Sarfarosh. Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh also appeared in this film in a cameo with John Abraham.

Sypnosis

Gaurav "G.G" Gupta (Ajay Devgan), an industrialist from Mumbai, wants to build a new city. The land for his project is owned by Guru Srinath Vardhan (Javed Sheikh), a former industrialist, who retired and now leads a quiet, spiritual life in his ashram. If G.G. does not get this piece of land for his project "Golden Gate", he'll go bankrupt. Srinath's son, Jaidev "Jai" Vardhan (Shahid Kapoor) who travels to Mumbai meets Natasha (Bipasha Basu), G.G.'s girlfriend. G.G. and Natasha seduce Jai with all the luxuries of Mumbai. Despite warnings from Jai's childhood love Madhavi (Amrita Rao), Jai becomes careless and G.G. recognizes his chance to get his piece of land with Jai's help. Almost too late, Jai realizes what he has done - he not only pushed his father away, but also Madhavi and is in the process of betraying his father's dream. He decides to undo his mistakes and publicizes that an industrialist is about to destroy a holy ashram only for the sake of greed and profit. G.G., in the end, has to give up his project and the ashram is saved.
