Shirish Kunder is an
editor and
film director in the Hindi Film Industry. He was born in Mangalore on May 24, 1973.
Career
He graduated as an electronics engineer from
SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka and worked for
Motorola. He later entered the film industry as an
editor when he edited his first movie
Champion (2000). He rose to popularity when he edited
Farah Khan's
Main Hoon Na (2004).
He then turned to directing and his directorial debut was titled
Jaan-E-Mann, for which he also wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues, apart from composing and editing the background music score. The film starred
Salman Khan,
Akshay Kumar and
Preity Zinta, and was released on 20 October 2006. He has worked on
Tees Maar Khan. His other film
Joker is still in the planning phase, though the story has been written.
On 9 December 2004, he married director and
choreographer Farah Khan, who is eight years his senior. She gave birth to their triplets, son Czar and daughters Diva and Anya, on 11 February 2008 at Mumbai's Jaslok hospital.
