Soti Triantafyllou

<!---->Soti (full name Sotiria) Triantafyllou () (born December, 1957) is a Greek writer and journalist, part of the modern generation of Greek writers. She was born in Athens and she has spent a considerable part of her life abroad, mainly in the US and Paris. She studied pharmacy, French literature, and she holds a PhD in American History and Cinema (E.H.E.S.S., Paris). Since 1985, she has published numerous novels, short stories, essays on cinema as well as political articles. Two of her books have been translated in four languages (German, French, Catalan and Hebrew). Except being a writer, Soti Triantafyllou translates from four languages and also works as a freelance journalist.

Life

Soti Triantafyllou studied pharmacy at the University of Athens. On completing her studies, she left Greece for Paris where she stayed from 1979 to 1982, when she moved to New York. While in the States she travelled extensively and she attended many rock concerts. For three and a half years she states that she worked as American History teacher in a public Bronx high school.
