Stephanie Kulp Seymour

Stephanie Kulp Seymour (born October 16, 1940 in Battle Creek, Michigan) is a Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Early life and education

Seymour received a B.A. from Smith College in 1962, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude, and her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1965., Smith College News Release (September 10, 2009).

Career

Prior to joining the federal bench, Seymour was in private practice for fifteen years in Boston, Houston, and Tulsa.

Judicial service

Seymour was nominated to the Tenth Circuit by President Jimmy Carter on August 28, 1979, to a new seat created by Congress. She was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 31, 1979.
