Steve Sidwell (musician)

Steve Sidwell is a conductor, composer, and instrumentalist specialising in swing music. Renowned as an arranger and composer, Steve, has featured on numerous albums, television shows, advertising campaigns and films with his distinctive and innovative orchestrations and compositions.

He is also a trumpeter for the Michael Nyman Band.

He conducted Robbie Williams' performance in the Royal Albert Hall. This performance was later released as the DVD Robbie Williams Live at the Albert. Recent projects include recordings with Sarah Brightman and the LSO, Paul Young, Jeff Beck, Seal, Dame Shirley Bassey, Kerry Ellis and Paul Carrack.

Steve also conducted the music for "The Chris Moyles Show" on BBC Radio One.

He is credited for recordings as arranger on Robbie Williams' Moulin Rouge! songs and Seal tracks for Moulin Rouge. Steve has also contributed to other film tracks for Baz Lurhman’s Romeo & Juliet, Bridget Jones’ Diary, "Teacher's Pet" SpongeBob SquarePants, Finding Nemo, Mona Lisa Smiles and 101 Dalmatians 2.

Sidwell also conducted the score for Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade, the daily parade at Disneyland Paris which was the centrepiece of the resort's 15 year anniversary in 2007. The music was performed by the 100-strong Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, and is a "little bit jazzy" in its style.
