Description:
Stoner is best known as mercurial bass guitar player and vocalist with influential protopunk art rock band Doctors of Madness (1974–1978) and later with post-punk rock band which he formed with singer/composer/guitarist T.V. Smith in 1980.

A rare exponent of the bass guitar solo (showcased on Marie and Joe from the Doctors of Madness ‘Figments of Emancipation’ album

Stoner’s unique vocal style is highlighted when he takes the lead on No Limits from the Doctors of Madness ‘Sons of Survival’ album.

In the late 70’s Stoner played bass with the Sadista Sisters (a “political and sexual cabaret of blasphemy”) incorporating the role of musical director.

Stoner also did studio session work, playing on singles for the band ‘Exit’ and with ‘Daedalo’, making a 5-track CD Walk inside the Painting now using a 5-string fretless bass guitar.

Moving from London to Worcestershire in the late 80’s, Stoner maintains a musical interest, playing with local bands and has also gigged with local celebrity, international violin virtuoso Nigel Kennedy playing Jimi Hendrix covers.

Stoner is currently in a Malvern band, The Pull http://thepullband.com with Rob Murray-Mason and Tyler Massey.<!-- Deleted image removed: -->
