For the hiker in your group there are many trails on Mt Mansfield and among the caves or Smugglers Notch State ParkRock climbers and ice climbers find this spot tremendous additions to the sport.
There are several remarkable people who hail from Stowe. Maria von Trapp and her family have a home in Stowe you may remember the movie "The Sound Of Music" it was the Von Trapp family that made there way to Stowe to begin rebuilding their lives post WWII. Stowe is also home to William Kidd, the first American man to win the gold in Olympics for alpine skiing and Rusty Dewees the Author and Comedian.
