Sukhbir Singh Badal

Sukhbir Singh Badal (Sukhbir Singh ) (Punjabi: ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ) (born on 9 July 1962) is President of Shiromani Akali Dal political party. He is the son of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. He currently serves as Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab.

Personal life

He was born on 9 July 1962 in Badal, Distt. Faridkot (Punjab). He went to the Lawrence School, Sanawar. He studied to acquire a B.A. (Hons) Economics, M.A (Economics) and MBA. He is an alumnus of Panjab University, Chandigarh and California State University, Los Angeles (USA).

Political career

Sukhbir Singh Badal was a Member of Parliament of the 11th and 12th Lok Sabha of India in 1996 and 1998 respectively. He was union minister of state for industry in Second Vajpayee Ministry from 1998 to 1999. He was a member of Rajya Sabha from 2001 to 2004 .
