Swati Reddy, also known as
Colours Swathi, is an Indian film actress and television presenter. Her nickname and fame come from her role in the television show
Colours, which was telecasted on the
Telugu station Maa TV in
Andhra Pradesh. After essaying supporting roles, she made her debut as a leading role actress in the
Tamil film
Subramaniyapuram (2008). Her role in the Telugu film
Ashta Chamma received critical acclaim and garnered her the
Filmfare Award and
Nandi Award for Best Actress.
Career
Swati was born in
Vladivostok,
Soviet Union. Her father, who was working for the
Indian Navy, was transferred to the UdSSR as a
submariner. She has one sibling, an elder brother named Siddharth. Her family shifted to
Mumbai and later to the
Eastern Naval Command in
Visakhapatnam, where she spent most of her childhood. While studying in 11th class, she moved to
Hyderabad. She enrolled at St. Mary’s College in
Yousufguda, Hyderabad and graduated in
