Description:
Tao () is a historical region on the territory of modern Turkey roughly corresponding to the Taochi (Taochoi) of Greeks and Tayk of Armenians. It was a province within various Georgian Bagratid states from the 8th to the 16th century, when the region was conquered by the Ottoman Empire.
