The Best of Bob Dylan

The Best of Bob Dylan is a single-disc compilation album containing songs by Bob Dylan, released on November 15, 2005. It is an abbreviation of The Essential Bob Dylan, though, like the U.K. "Best of Dylan" compilations, it is not considered a part of Dylan's official discography.

All songs on the album have been previously released, and, with the exception of "Not Dark Yet" and "Things Have Changed", all have been released in a re-mastered format by the Columbia label. With the exception of "Summer Days" (from Love and Theft), all were available on The Essential Bob Dylan.

The Best of Bob Dylan is available in a digipak format, in an attempt to imitate a vinyl record. The album has liner notes written by Bill Flanagan, with commentary on each of the album's tracks. In these notes, it is stated that the album is meant to be a sampler of Dylan's material for people who are now beginning to express interest.
