Radia Tapes Controversy
In 2010, Udayan Mukherjee's name was mentioned in leaked from the phone taps of corporate lobbyist Niira Radia. In one of the tapes, Radia is heard alleging that Mukherjee talks up/down certain stocks in which he or his family has taken a position in. Radia goes on to state that Mukherjee pays the highest income tax among journalists in India (reportedly Rs. 6 Crore).
