Union City Transit is a public transit service in Union City, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. It began operations in 1974 with the opening of the Union City BART station.Five bus lines connect riders to local destinations, such as schools, shopping centers, and the Union City BART station.

AC Transit also provides service to Union City.

Local Service

Route 1A, 1B and 2 operate everyday, and route 3 and 4 operate from Monday to Saturday. All of them do not operate on certain holidays (Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, President’s Day and Memorial Day). All routes start and end their trips at the Union City BART.


Fares are effective 1 July 2007
  • † Children under six years of age may ride free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
  • ‡ Appropriate identification must be presented to obtain the discounted Senior/Disabled fare.

  • ₮ Transfers are only issued with cash fares at the time of boarding. Transfers and passes must be valid.
