Research and development at the FachhochschuleLandshut are as practice based as the teaching. The university’s contacts in industry and other organizations determine the areas of specialisation. Several new developments originating from Fachhochschule projects go on to be mass produced. The interdisciplinary centre of competence for Microsystems engineering coordinates the projects, sets up information networks and gives advice and support to people starting up their own businesses.Sensor and actuator technology, and the networking of “intelligent” systems are areas of specialisation on the micro-electronics and automation engineering courses.
