Of all the departments in a company, one that's of utter importance is the human resource department. This is brought about by the fact that the HR department does human resource management or otherwise known as managing of the people who are part of the company. Apart from this the HR department also does the hiring of workers and sees to it that they stay in their positions and function to the optimum.

Since the employees are essentially the ones who keep the company going, inappropriate human resources management can result to problems in the company. Because of this, the human resource department must be able to carry out effectively the following tasks.
The number one task is manpower planning. This involves preparing for the company's future regarding the number of employees to hire and the corresponding skills that they should possess. This plan includes foreseeing how many people will be leaving the company, what improvements will be occurring in the corporation and how productive the present employees are. Also another task of the HR department is conducting job analysis and job description.
The results of the analysis will dictate the types of individuals the company will employ. Other than that, the HR department also does research on the correct wage that should be awarded to the workers. But the ultimate say here lies within the top management and the finance department. As mentioned above, the HR department is also the one involved in recruiting and selecting employees. It is then the work of the HR department to hire the cream of the crop. The HR department has to monitor and evaluate how effectively and efficiently the employee works by using HR software. After acknowledging that changes would have to be carried out, the HR department must now train their employees. One more task of the HR department is to ensure that the employees are satisfied with their work by conducting parties and recreational activities. Lastly, when employees have problems with the company, they can count on the HR department to handle the matter.
