The film records the 12 December 1911 celebrations in India relating to the coronation of George V, known as Delhi Durbar or The Durbar at Delhi. Surviving prints of the film are about two hours, but the film may have originally been as long as six hours.

When this movie was released, there were many black-and-white films of the Delhi Durbar, while this version was successful at the boxoffice because it was in color.
