Zahirabad is biggest town and a
municipality in
Medak district in the
Indian state of
Andhra Pradesh.
Etymology
Zaheerabad is named after a Paigah nawab called Zaheer Yar Jung. It was previously called as peddaekkhelli.
Geography
Zahirabad is located at . It has an average elevation of 622
metres (2040
feet).
Industrialisation
In Zaheerabad, there is one of the major Indian Automotive vehicle manufactures Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., which is located near the town, with which only 25% of local people are employed till now, and the company is going to launch a tractor plant of Rs. 300 crores which can give employment to 5000 people directly and indirectly. It is assumed to start in November 2010 and estimated to be complete in three years.
Also nearer to the town-ends the Industrial park is going under construction with nearly 25 industries are going to launch here and which can offer employment for most of natives of the town.
By Industrilisation in Zaheerbad the Cost of Living has been increased and the life of local people is not changed.
There are other industries such as Alana, Trident Sugar Factory Ltd (Formerly Nizam Sugars Ltd) and Piramal Healthcare Ltd (Formerly known as Sumithra Chemicals).
