is one of the twenty-four barangays
comprising the municipality of Santa Maria, Bulacan
. It is bordered by Barangays Caypombo on the south, Balasing on the east, Partida, Norzagaray
on the north and Pulong Yantok, Angat
on the northwest. The barangay is the home of the nationally-known Pulong Buhangin National High School
which produced two champions in the prestigious National Schools Press Conference
Area and Location
Pulong Buhangin is the largest barangay in Santa Maria with a land area of 1,438 hectares, larger than the towns of Pateros
in Metro Manila
Pulong Buhangin is located seven kilometers northeast of Sta. Maria
town proper and thirty-nine kilometers from Manila
The prevailing climatic conditions in the municipality is categorized into two (2) types: dry and wet season.
The annual mean temperature in the area is 27 degrees Celsius. The warmest month is May with a mean temperature of 29.9 degrees Celsius while the coldest is January at 25.2 degrees Celsius.
As of 2007
census, Pulong Buhangin has a population of 33,799 people.
